Non-Oriented Electrical Steel (CRNGO / CRNO) — NO Silicon Steel for Motors & Generators

Uniform magnetic properties in all directions for high-efficiency rotating machines—ideal for EV motors, compressors, generators, and industrial drives.

Non-Oriented Electrical Steel (CRNGO / CRNO)

Non-Oriented Electrical Steel (also called Non-Oriented Silicon Steel or Cold Rolled Non-Oriented Electrical Steel) is a silicon steel designed for applications where the magnetic field rotates—such as electric motors, generators, compressors, and many industrial electrical machines. Unlike grain-oriented grades, non-oriented electrical steel provides uniform magnetic properties in all directions, which is essential for dynamic, high-speed rotating equipment.

Designed for: Motors, Generators, Compressors, HVAC, EV Traction Systems
Thickness:0.35 mm / 0.50 mm / 0.65 mm

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is Non-Oriented Electrical Steel (CRNGO/CRNO) used for?

It is mainly used in rotating electrical machines where the magnetic field rotates, such as motors, generators, compressors, pumps, HVAC equipment, and EV traction systems.

How is CRNGO different from CRGO?

CRGO (grain-oriented) is optimized for magnetic flux in one direction and is used mostly for transformer cores. CRNGO/CRNO (non-oriented) provides uniform properties in all directions, making it ideal for motors and generators.

What thicknesses are available?

Common supply thicknesses include 0.35 mm, 0.50 mm, and 0.65 mm. If you need a different thickness or special tolerance, send an RFQ for confirmation.

Do you support slitting and custom coating?

Yes. We provide slitting, cutting, and multiple insulation coating options. We can recommend the best coating type based on your punching, stacking, and bonding process.

Do you provide certifications / test reports?

Yes. Products are supplied in line with IEC and ASTM quality requirements, with full test reports and certification documentation available for overseas shipments.

What information do you need for an accurate quotation?

Please share: thickness, width (or slit widths), coil ID/OD if required, coating type, quantity, target magnetic/loss requirement (if applicable), and destination port/address.
