5754 aluminum / Sheet and plate
Voyage Metal supplies 5754 aluminum sheet and plate in common specifications and supports custom orders. Start with the temper and finished dimensions: the same alloy designation does not make different material conditions interchangeable. Tell us your thickness, width, length, quantity and application so our team can review the required combination.
Discuss O, H111, H22 or H24 material, mill finish, surface protection and documentation requirements. Dimensions and options below are inquiry references; availability and the final specification are confirmed for each order.
| Item | Order specification |
|---|---|
| Grade and form | 5754 aluminum; plain sheet or plate |
| Temper options | O, H111, H22 and H24; confirm the required temper and size combination |
| Sheet thickness examples | 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 mm; other thicknesses and plate requirements by inquiry |
| Width × length examples | 1000 × 2000, 1250 × 2500 and 1500 × 3000 mm; custom dimensions by inquiry |
| Surface | Mill finish / as-rolled; state any appearance or additional finish requirements |
| Surface protection | Protective film or interleaving requirements to be agreed for the order |
| Tolerances | Thickness, width, length, flatness and squareness to the agreed specification |
| Documents and packing | Material documents, inspection and export packing confirmed against order requirements |
These examples are not a stock list or a maximum production range. Not every temper, thickness, size and finish combination follows the same supply route.
Specify dimensions as thickness × width × length, with units. For a finished blank, include the drawing and identify whether your dimensions describe the supplied material or the final component. State edge requirements and any allowance needed for subsequent processing.
For thicker plate or a size outside the examples, send the complete requirement for review. If your order mixes sizes or tempers, list each item separately so the quotation can identify the exact material for each line.
Temper is part of the purchasing specification, not an optional label. Use the condition stated on your drawing or approved material specification. Do not substitute H111, H22 or H24 solely because all three carry the 5754 designation.
If the temper has not been selected, describe the intended forming, joining or machining steps and the service requirements. Our team can discuss supply options; final material selection should follow the project specification. Any required mechanical-property values must be checked for the applicable condition, thickness and standard.
Mill finish is the as-rolled surface. It is not a promise of mirror polish or a specified decorative appearance. Tell us which face will remain visible and whether cosmetic marks, handling protection or downstream finishing matter to the application.
Request protective film, interleaving or a particular packing arrangement where needed. Include requirements for dry or oiled surfaces and compatibility with your later processing. For a special finish, provide the required appearance or finish specification for review. This page covers plain sheet and plate; patterned tread plate should be identified separately in an inquiry.
For storage and transport planning, see our aluminum sheet handling and corrosion precautions.
A single tolerance value does not describe every 5754 order. Specify thickness tolerance separately from width, length, flatness and squareness. The applicable limits depend on dimensions, product condition, manufacturing route and the standard agreed for the order.
For an EN specification, EN 573-3 addresses chemical composition and EN 485-2 addresses mechanical properties. EN 485-3 and EN 485-4 cover dimensional and form tolerances for hot-rolled and cold-rolled products respectively, within their scopes. State the required edition and any drawing-specific limits. If your project specifies ASTM B209/B209M, identify that requirement for order review; do not assume it is identical to the EN route.

Describe the component and its operating environment, whether you are sourcing a formed panel, cover or another fabricated part. Exposure, loading, fabrication and required approvals affect material selection. A reference to marine use alone is not enough to approve 5754 for a particular structural component or as a replacement for another alloy.
Request a mill test certificate, certificate of origin or third-party inspection at the inquiry stage when needed. The document type, inspection scope, packing and marking must be agreed with the order. Include destination, handling constraints and any required surface protection.
For marine projects, review our marine aluminum grades and product forms. Confirm suitability against the project specification.

Clarify product-form terminology before specifying dimensions and preparing an inquiry.
Yes. Send thickness, width, length, quantity and the required temper. Include tolerances and a drawing where relevant so the exact combination can be reviewed.
No. Keep the specified temper on the inquiry and purchase order. Any proposed change should be checked against the material and fabrication requirements before approval.
The table gives reference specifications, not live inventory. Our team confirms availability and delivery arrangements after reviewing your order requirements.
Please also provide width, length, temper and quantity. Add tolerance, surface, document and destination requirements so the quotation reflects the material you intend to buy.
Include grade and form, temper, thickness × width × length, quantity, tolerances, surface or coating, standard and document requirements, packing, application and destination. Attach a drawing if dimensions or inspection requirements need further detail.
